The main ingredient of Moroccan oil
Argan oil which is produced from the kernels of argan
tree fruit. These trees grow almost exclusively in a
10,000 sq. mile region in southwest Morocco.

wonder ingredient. Safe and natural, light and
hydrating, argan oil has many uses in the beauty world.
But the argan tree and its fruits have a long history
with Moroccan women that goes beyond beauty. Traditionally the oil is produced by hand. First the
soft pulp is stripped from the nuts which are then laid
out in the sun to dry. Stones are used to crack open the
dried nuts so the seeds can be removed. Next, they’re
gently roasted to give the oil a rich, nutty flavor. A
little water is added to the roasted seeds and they are
ground into a thick paste which is squeezed by hand to
extract the oil.
Argan oil is rich in linoleic and oleic acids, which
help to protect and maintain skin resilience, smoothness
and radiance and high in vitamin E. The high levels of tocopherols in argan
oil also aid in anti-free radical activities and
protection against oxidation, which is a cause of skin
aging.
